All of the "enemies" in rain world are essentially ai. They exist not to stand in your way. But to not die. They exist for themselves. All of the enemies movements, behaviors. Even reactions are emergent behaviors. More over. Because they "decide" and all of their behavior is emergent. They are fallable to making mistakes. From major blunders immediately killing them. To unoptimized and messy movement. Its almost the polar opposite of don't starve. A fight in dont starve, a carefully constructed musical piece. A fight in rain world. Abrupt, messy, and violent. No careful construction. No real rules. There's certain rules you can make to make fighting easier. But on the whole, the game, and the enemies don't care. They just want to survive. And eating you is just a way to do that.

To try and explain rain world in a way that makes sense. And also not spoil anything. You, are a rat. Surrounded by cats. Tasked with climbing up the decaying ruins of human civilization. Or even more simply. *This game isn't about you.* You're just a creature living in it.

Maby since Charly has like a good and evil side as well as the mix of the two side of her sanity is 10/10 she’d be max sanity but powerless, when her sanity is below 5/10 she’d gain shadow powers and stuff and if she reaches 0/10 sanity she’ll be replaced by the shadow queen witch counts as death and migh be a problem for the other survivors.

It would be interesting if since there magicians Maxwell and Charlie could perform party tricks to entertain the pig king into like giving you gold and stuff as well as give other players sanity.

when i first saw burning frenzy in the skill tree for the first time, i only looked at the 25% damage part and just thought it was an activated skill that allowed willow to imbue a weapon with flame that increased damage by 25% and apply flame with them but as a cost it reduced the durability of the weapon. instead of this we got a 25% bonus damage to fire debuffed enemies

Please hamlet... we really need one! I'm glad that klei updates this game nowadays but we also need some more fresh approach :p

How do you use the abilitys on controller 🤐

Currently going through this struggle at the moment. My whole camp is set up perfectly. I got my campsite setup on the pig king, have drying racks, bee boxes, improved farms, berry bushes, lightning poles, full wooden barricade, but no mf gears for a cooler. I’ve searched a ton of the map still haven’t found the graveyard and haven’t found any gears in all the graves I’ve searched in my travels. Winters coming In a few days and I might be screwed if I can’t preserve my vergetables from my farm.

I could see them doing a “Don’t Starve 2” where they acknowledge all the previous content while giving us a new format to play. Perhaps still keeping DST as it’s own multiplayer experience.

My dream is that one day DST will have a way that lets you travel through the different DLCs and the forge and gorge events, kinda like how you can in Dont Starve

Would be nice for sea travel to work like ship wreck. Would be could for Hamlet to be a bean stalk you can climb to kinda get something that is the opposite of the ruins.

My theory with 0 proof or evidence is that maybe dst is developing an official dlc like hamlet and ship wrecked, which is why they slowed the updates down. I would pay 30+ to play a dlc that adds entirely new content to the game that isnt skins

It also feels like they are trying to make the game easier to get more players. I get its a business and they're trying to make money but the more player friendly it gets the less it resembles don't starve.

If they want to keep skill trees they need to trash it and start over. There needs to be some consequences to choosing something that makes you stronger (unless they are planning some super hardcore endgame stuff where you'll need all that power) if they're going to do slill trees id rather see something like a simplified diablo/arpg where you can create different builds. Besides that i don't see a need for skill trees. Still love the game but it feels like they have to stop updating for a bit and really come up with a solid gameplan of where this game is going.

They did actually discuss the trailer thing much longer in the forum comments. In summary, they kinda want to do stuff with the forge and gorge, but have loose ends to tie up in the main game before thinking of doing anything. (Maybe things like the ocean, caves, skilltrees, and the new end game)

klei could give us similar updates to crossover updates (wortox) but crossover between times of constant. Some old monsters and contents could return or come out to constant from shipwreck, forge gorge and newhome. refreshing mechanics and monsters from those dlc/ new game (newhome is new) and put it in game could really improved DST in my opinion :)

What I don’t understand is if this is none canon then why did the focus on the watch at the end maybe the “-“ in Joe w’s message implying that I it’s that kind of reverse psychology that it’s that it’s reverse psychology
